Ceremonies may also be performed on weekends, during holidays or at a different location depending upon judge availability. Please note that a Judge may not be available on the weekend or holiday you choose.

Do I Need A License?

YES: A marriage license issued by a county Auditor/Recorder is required. The Kitsap County Auditor’s Office may be contacted at 360-337-4935. For more information about weddings, please visit the Auditor’s Marriage License link at spf.kitsapgov.com/auditor.

Do I Have To Wait To Get Married After Getting My License?

YES: Washington law requires a 3-day waiting period, beginning the day after you apply for the license with the Auditor. Once the 3-day waiting period has been met, the license must be used within 60 days and is valid only in the State of Washington.

What If I’m Late?

If you are going to be late, please contact the Judge right away. Parties more than 5 minutes late may be required to reschedule. We get it, traffic is tough, things happen and sometimes you can’t be on time. However, the Judges stay after hours to perform the weddings and most likely will have several scheduled before they go home for the day. If you’re late, that impacts the timing for any subsequent scheduled weddings. We don’t want to cancel, so please be on time! Early is better, there are benches in the lobby where you can wait.

Do You Accommodate Last-Minute Wedding Requests?

Sometimes, but not always. It depends on the Judge’s availability that week and if the wedding schedule is already full.
